Message from Mike

My name is Mike Snipes and I want to be judge of Dallas County Criminal District Court #7. I have thirty years of public service and believe I am exceptionally well-qualified to serve in this position. I recently retired from the U.S. Army Reserves as a Colonel after serving two tours in the Middle East, most recently as a political advisor in the 1st Infantry Division during the war in Iraq. I retired in 2004 as a federal prosecutor after 13 years of trying cases in all federal criminal sections (including General Crimes, Narcotics and Violent Crime, Appeals, and White Collar Fraud and Public Corruption) and being named Prosecutor of the Year by the Greater Dallas Crime Commission.

In addition to my public service, I have worked as an attorney in private practice and have a thorough understanding of the challenges on both sides of the courtroom. I was recently certified for appointment as a federal Administrative Law Judge, a highly competitive position offered to only the most respected federal court practitioners, but I have declined the appointment because of my desire to serve the people of Dallas County.

My goal is to be a judge for all people and to help all sides work together. I would be a knowledgeable, fair and hard working judge for Dallas County. I am asking for your support and your vote in November 2006.
